Ibis Styles Lens Centre Gare

The room faced the railway station across the road, which made for a nice view, and we didn’t hear any traffic. It was spacious and very clean, with a really comfortable bed and extra pillows if you wanted them. We booked just one night, arriving while a football match was on in Lens. The hotel was busy with supporters, thanks to its sizeable bar and restaurant, so I worried it might be noisy. It turned out to be incredibly quiet, the rooms are very well insulated. If you’re driving, reserve a hotel parking space ahead of time, as they’re first come, first served. There’s paid parking a short walk away as another option. I’d recommend staying here.

We had a good night’s sleep, with clean, roomy accommodation for two adults and our seven-year-old. The beds were comfortable, and the large walk-in shower had strong water pressure. The sink and separate toilet were clean and working properly. Breakfast was good value, with plenty of cereal, bread, fresh juice, and hot drinks to help yourself to. There wasn’t hot food, but there was enough choice, and staff kept the dining area tidy and well stocked, with plenty of seats. The hotel’s close to Lens shops and restaurants, and right across from a train and bus stop. We were never bothered by traffic or people. The secure car park on site was easy to use, cost €8 a day, and let us come and go. We came from the UK for a football tournament, and the RC Lens training ground was a 10-minute drive or a €15 Uber ride away. Our travel disruption made us arrive late, but the 24-hour reception made that easy, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I’d book again if I return to the area, and recommend it to others. The bar was comfortable and had a good range of drinks. Breakfast was good, and the hotel was clean and very well located. Allisson was especially helpful, from our first phone call through arrival, including showing us how to get to the underground parking. The only slight drawback was that there’s no restaurant in the hotel. There are places to eat very close by, and the hotel can offer basic microwave snacks if needed.

Everything worked as it should, and the hotel was clean throughout. The rooms are simple, but quiet and clean, and breakfast was nice too. The staff were welcoming and fantastic. It’s just across the road from the train station. I’d definitely recommend it. Bravo.
