We had told the owner in advance that we were bringing our two little French bulldogs, but when we arrived she changed her mind and refused to let us stay. It was nearly midnight, and my wife and I had nowhere else to go. She was rude and didn't seem to care that we'd already informed her about the dogs. I had paid in advance, but she refused to refund the money. The earlier messages had also seemed rude, which should have warned me. A terrible experience, and I strongly advise against staying here.

Two weeks before my trip, the hotel cancelled the confirmed booking I'd made through booking .com for a two-night stay near a friend's wedding. They offered no explanation beyond saying, “we are no longer opening”. I've complained several times through booking .com, but they haven't been able to reach the property for a response. With the trip so close, I had to find new accommodation at twice the price. I can only imagine they cancelled because I'd booked early at a low rate. They have broken a legal contract under booking .com policy, and I may have to sue to recover my loss. Avoid this place. Booking with an unreliable company like this isn't worth the hassle.

Breakfast was restricted to a single one-hour window, which left no flexibility for planning the day. The landlord was cold and unwelcoming, the opposite of the warm B&B experience I expected. The room didn't live up to its promise either: the bathroom had no door, something not visible in the pictures, and the sleeping sofa was badly uncomfortable and uneven. For the price, it felt like a scam. I wouldn't stay here even for free and can't recommend it to anyone. Look for another hotel in the area if you want a good vacation.

We had a peaceful, relaxing weekend in this beautiful place. The host put a lot of care into meeting our requests, and we'll be back next year for sure. Thanks so much, Le Mas aux Cèdres.
