Chambres d'Hôtes Le Manoir de Beaumarchais

We were stuck at the train station because we couldn’t get an Uber or a taxi, so my husband and I called the host for help. She said there was nothing she could do, then charged us 60 euros for being late. She was incredibly rude, and also took a can of chips from my room even though I’d paid well over $600. The place feels like a scam. Overpriced, obnoxious staff, and terrible customer service. Don’t waste your money or come here.

We had a lovely night in a large room with a beautiful view and a nice bathroom. The place itself is quiet and luxurious, with Tudor architecture, lots of nature, and a giant garden. It’s perfect if you need to be close to Disneyland, like we did, but you definitely need a car. The room could use a little refresh, though. The bed set could be cosier and more comfortable, and the pillows were flat.

The building is lovely and could be a pleasure to stay in with some TLC, but cleanliness and the cold made us skip breakfast. There were dead flies on the floor and furniture, cobwebs everywhere, and the overall cleanliness was very poor. Our deluxe room was spacious and bright, with lots of windows, but it felt damp and cold. All six radiators were off. It was 10c outside, and when we asked for heat, we were told the owners hadn’t allowed it to be switched on yet. They gave us a small electric heater that was filthy. Getting in was confusing too, because of a “Do not enter” sign at the driveway and no clear indication of the entrance door. When we finally checked in, the receptionist said everyone complains about that sign. So why don’t the owners remove it?

We stayed here for our wedding at Chateau Du Vivier, and the service was wonderful. The view was serene and beautiful, and the whole experience was truly impressive. The rooms are traditional and comfortable, with a unique bathroom in each. I’d highly recommend staying here.
