Auberge de la RivIère

The location is so peaceful, and the evening meal was stunningly good. Just lovely, and the breakfast was excellent too. Highly recommended.

We had a peaceful, lovely view of the river from our room, and the staff were welcoming, helpful and lovely. For dinner we picked the set menu of surprise dishes: nine freshly cooked tasters, from starters and mains to puddings. We tried vegetables, three kinds of fish, duck and two delicious puddings. There was plenty of bread, and we chose a lovely Rose to go with it. They were small portions, but after nine dishes we were very full! Breakfast the next morning was brilliant too, with fresh food and lots of choice. 😊 I’d thoroughly recommend staying and eating here.

The chefs did a fantastic job and the food was amazing, but the wait staff really let the place down. We had to ask three times for water and ended up standing up to pour our own wine. For somewhere that presents itself as it does, the service was poor. It felt like we’d got the B team. Such a shame, because the food deserved better service. I’d have paid more for that.

The food is absolutely delicious, and the service and location are excellent. You can choose a tasting menu or order à la carte, and it’s great value for money. Certainly one of the best restaurants in the area.
