Domaine Le Piboul

Our kids, aged 3, 6 and 9, had such a good time that they wanted to come back next year. We parents loved it too, so we’ve already booked again. Domaine le Piboul has four spacious, well equipped holiday homes, all kept in great condition, plus a pool that’s plenty big for the number of guests and has shaded seating. The cottages and outdoor spaces actually look even better than the photos. There’s a jeu de boule court, a huge trampoline and an outdoor kitchen with barbecues, and the owners are a lovely, helpful family with plenty of local tips. Supermarkets and a bakery are close by. We were pleasantly surprised by the Aude area, with castles, swimming lakes, little rivers, museums, lovely towns and affordable restaurants all within about 30 minutes. There are lots of vineyards too. The owners are happy to suggest things to do. The beaches take a little over 30 minutes to reach, but are worth the trip.

Everything worked properly, and it’s a great place for families with kids.

We had a really lovely holiday at Le Piboul, helped along by our hospitable host. Thanks, Martijn! The covered outdoor area, with barbecues and two long tables, gave our whole group somewhere to eat together, and every dinner felt festive. The surroundings are beautiful, with lots of charming little spots to explore. We rented two apartments for 15 people. The pool was gorgeous, and we were allowed to swim at night if we switched off the lights and tidied up afterward. We even had a pool party. The rooms and beds were great. In the upstairs apartment, air conditioning was only in the hallway, which was a shame, though perhaps that may change. The sofa downstairs was very hard. The other apartment had large bedrooms with air conditioning, plus another bedroom downstairs, a pleasant sitting area and a beautiful, fully equipped kitchen.

For the second year running, we booked all four cottages for a family reunion, and we felt completely at home. The owners are lovely and helpful, and the pool was fantastic. The cottages were very clean, the beds were made up, and towels were provided. The outdoor area worked well for the children and adults in our family. Everything suited us perfectly. See you next year! 👍😀
