The food cooked by the owner was the highlight. Her homemade traditional Alsace dishes were mouthwatering, and just as good as the meal we later had at a hotel with a Michelin-starred restaurant. We stayed one night before trekking in the hills of Vosges. The hotel has a distinctive character and may feel a little dated to some, but we found it quaint, very clean, and well kept. The attentive staff were pleasant. I'd highly recommend staying here, or at least coming for lunch or dinner if you can.

We had a lovely evening and a meal to remember. During our August 2021 holiday, we called ahead because of COVID and were told dinner around 19h would be fine. When we arrived, the tavern was usually closed that evening, but the owner, a very nice French lady, let us in anyway. She welcomed us without any staff, cooked a fantastic meal, then joined us for a conversation about history, religion, COVID, and other things. Thanks so much for the hospitality, Marie-Christine.

Beware of Hotel Dex Clefs. They canceled my reservation without asking so they could list the room again, then sold it twice and didn't refund me. COVID regulations in France meant I couldn't make the trip. In my experience, this was a scam, and they cheated me by selling my room again without checking whether COVID would prevent me from traveling. Buyer beware of hotel des deux clefs.

A peaceful spot in the countryside. The hostess is lively and very nice, and her delicious meals are lovely to eat out on the green porch.
