We stayed three nights in the family room, which had two connected rooms, each with a double bed. The stairs are numerous, so it may not suit someone with mobility issues. The bathroom was modern and tastefully done, and breakfast was lovely: fresh croissants, bread, jams, homemade yogurt, and fresh fruit salad each morning, with more available if you wanted it. We really enjoyed our stay at Au Coeur de Lille and would recommend it.

The location made getting around easy: the Citadel is a five-minute walk away, the Old Town and Grand Place about ten minutes, and Lille Europe roughly twenty. Veronique was a warm, friendly host who offered helpful tips on places to visit, restaurants, and shops. Breakfast was a treat, with fresh fruit salad, homemade yogurt and jams, bread, croissants, and cereals. During our stay there was also homemade chocolate cake, chocolate mousse, and panna cotta. The spacious room was comfortable and had plenty of hanging and storage space, plus a small fridge for keeping water cool. The bathroom had modern facilities. Au Coeur de Lille is a gem in a stylishly furnished 19th-century townhouse, and the website accurately reflects the property.

The host was amazing, and the accommodation was very nice. Everything was clean, the breakfast was great, and Lille's main attractions are all within walking distance. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

There are quite a lot of stairs, but the beautiful bedroom and bathroom, plus the great views from three large windows, made them worth it. Good restaurants and bars are close by, and having parking taken care of was a bonus. I'd highly recommend it. Michael
