Novotel Suites Gare Lille Europe

The area didn’t feel nice at night, and I didn’t feel safe. The room itself was uncomfortable, with a mattress that wasn’t comfortable and major stains on the bedding. I was given one room that hadn’t been cleaned, with sheets on the floor. The other room was dirty too, with stains all over the sofa and bedding, and the shower door was broken. There was nothing in the fridge, and no toothpaste or other little things you might want to find in a room. The bathroom was from the same supplier as F1 Hotels and B&B, and I don’t expect a plastic bathroom when booking a 4* hotel. Four-star places offer ten times what you do, and even three-star hotels provide more. I was about to go downstairs and switch to Hilton for a few more euros. I’d already prepaid, but I’d have been fine losing that money. I wouldn’t complain if this were a 2* hotel.

The staff welcomed us warmly and with care as soon as we arrived. They were helpful with any problems we had, especially receptionist Amour. I had an excellent experience at this hotel.

When a sudden group of guests arrived after being moved from the train station, Amour’s assistant from the night shift did an excellent job as an auxiliary barman and host. Amour was a great receptionist too.

Everyone was kind and helpful, and Amour was especially nice and helped us with everything. The service was really good. It’s close to the train station and the centre, and I’d recommend it whenever you go to Lille. Amazing experience!
