Hôtel De La Cité Royale

The spa is small and can feel crowded, and dinner didn’t meet what I’d expect from a 4* hotel restaurant. There were a few service and kitchen hiccups, though the team did try to make up for them. Still, this is a stunning, comfortable hotel in a perfect city-center location, with free parking, spacious rooms, great beds and a generous breakfast. The staff were warm and attentive. If I pass through Loches again, I’ll definitely return 😊

My wife had stayed here before with friends, and we spent one night in early October. The room and bathroom were beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. We’ll use this hotel whenever we need a place to stay in the area.

A high-end, chain-style hotel with modern rooms, all clean and comfortable. The staff were very young, but the service was good, and breakfast was fantastic. The spa felt a bit disappointing, very small for a hotel this size.

Such a shame, because the hotel has a lot going for it. The public areas are beautifully decorated, the terrace is perfect on a sunny evening, and our room was very good with everything working well. The problem was that there weren’t enough staff for the number of guests. The people working were doing their best, but some didn’t seem experienced enough. On a Monday, when most restaurants are shut, the bistro needed to handle all those guests and couldn’t, so we ended up without dinner. Breakfast also wasn’t set up for the number of people staying. It makes me sad to say this, but maybe prices need to go up to pay for enough staff.
