L'Ecrin D'Osely

I was really happy with this stopover, and I’d definitely stay again if I need to break up a trip to Barcelona. It’s probably better for a night on the way than for a long visit, but well worth the money. The rooms are basic and the bathroom is shared. I got the last room, and there’s a small pool that would be a nice extra in warmer weather. I also heard the owner is a very good cook, though I had to leave early and couldn’t try it. I’d been caught out in a thunderstorm, cold and soaked, and found the place online at a service station. I called at 11pm, even though check-in had closed, and the owner kindly said she’d leave a light on so I could find the house. I’d expected a hotel or hostel, but it turned out to be her home, tucked into the forest among waterfalls and mountain views, with clouds over the hills. It was amazing, much better than a standard chain hotel. The owners were so helpful. She helped dry my clothes and found extra hairdryers. She was fantastic, and it felt like staying at my nan’s again. Thanks for the hospitality.

The people were friendly and breakfast was good, though I missed having eggs or meat. The wifi, unfortunately, was poor.

The view was great, and it’s a very friendly place.
