B&B HOTEL Amiens Longueau

The staff are friendly, and there are plenty of all-you-can-eat places nearby. We had no problems with heat or noise, and the self-service car wash next door is great. One thing I’d change: please put the shower curtain back. I tried my best, but still made a mess every time I showered.

A good-value stop for our family of four while crossing France. The hotel is conveniently close to the motorway. The bedroom looked a bit worn, but it was clean and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was tasty and filling, though there isn’t much room in the breakfast area.

We only used this worn-out roadside hotel for a night on a long drive, and I wouldn’t recommend it. The beds were fine and the room was reasonably clean if you didn’t look too closely, but the smell of smoke in our room was disgusting. Although it’s advertised as non-smoking, guests can smoke on the galleries outside the rooms, and with a window open the smoke comes straight inside. The hotel also wasn’t very clean overall. The staff, especially in the morning, didn’t make any effort to communicate warmly and always answered in French. I understand French but can barely speak it, so even a basic attempt at English would have helped. Breakfast was poor too. The basics were okay, but skip the bacon and scrambled eggs: both were awful, and the bacon was strangely greasy and cold. I know the hotel is cheap, but even basic things weren’t right. There are plenty of places nearby at the same or only slightly higher prices, and I’d choose one of those instead.

The breakfast was rubbish and an expensive extra. In room 51, road noise carried on around the clock, and a thoughtless neighbour blared noise all night despite having a do-not-disturb sign on their door. The toilet cistern wouldn’t fill, so water just ran through and it wouldn’t flush.
