Brit Hotel Confort Amiens

We came with our two dogs and stayed for two nights while passing through. We assume we were given the “dog room,” so can’t comment on the other rooms. Ours was clean, with a comfy bed, French TV and a clean bathroom that worked properly. The hotel was surprisingly quiet despite being just off a retail park. There’s plenty of grass for walking dogs, though they can’t be off lead. The staff were pleasant, spoke English, and the hotel restaurant’s food was fine. I’d recommend it as a base for the Somme battlefields. French roads and their condition are far better than those in the UK.

The air conditioning in the room we paid for turned out to be faulty. Since the hotel is beside a motorway, opening the windows was very noisy, and in the summer we needed a cooler room. They didn’t apologise, move us, or offer a discount. There was never any management at the hotel, and they didn’t return calls even after promising to. When I emailed a complaint, they denied it had happened. Avoid this place and stay somewhere else.

For the price, this is a great hotel. The service was exceptional, and the rooms were clean. Despite facing the motorway, we didn’t hear anything through the double-glazed windows, contrary to what some reviews say.

We arrived late, but after we called ahead they left our key in a key safe, so getting in was easy. The room was bright, clean and nicely decorated, and our family room had an interconnecting layout. The beds were comfortable, the air conditioning worked well, and we slept great. There are places nearby to get food. Since it was late, we drove 11 minutes to a Burger King. We’d definitely stay again.
