Lovely place, but the owner wasn't very kind. He kept complaining about things you might do wrong, which gets really annoying when you're on holiday.

The location worked really well for us, with a supermarket nearby and an easy-to-reach shuttle to the resort. For the comfort, facilities, and location, the price felt very reasonable. We'd happily come back and recommend this place. L’Escale en Ubaye is peaceful, functional, well equipped, and very well kept, with comfortable bedding and a gorgeous mountain view. We even got to watch the Pra Loup fireworks from the gîte. Audrey was a remarkable host, welcoming, available, and quick to respond. We had an excellent stay.

I was on a work trip and only spent one night at the gîte, but I'll come back on future trips to the area. Audrey was delightful, and even though I arrived late, she gave me a very warm welcome. The place is practical and well equipped, with a lovely view of the mountains. It's out in the countryside, yet close to the village and its amenities.
