Les Hôtes du Châtaignier

There's real peace and quiet here, just right if you want nature and a break from everything. The clean, warm accommodation is well looked after, and the mattresses are so comfortable you almost wish you could take one home. Sébastien and Stéphanie are genuinely friendly, attentive hosts who care about their guests. Breakfast and dinner with the other guests made for relaxed, sociable moments, with plenty of delicious local food. A wonderful experience, highly recommended.

There were twelve of us staying in this beautiful place in the middle of nowhere. The views are breathtaking, and there's a jacuzzi and a pétanque court too. We loved gathering around the big table in the evening, and the common areas have a lot of charm, with board games to play. The rooms are comfortable and lovely. Our hosts were easygoing and accommodating, and cooked generous portions of delicious dinner themselves.

Walking through the chestnut grove, with a stream murmuring nearby and the scenery changing along the way, was such a treat. There are plenty of walks around here. The house and grounds are cared for and laid out nicely, and we felt fine letting the children play outside. It's a lovely change from our housing estate. After busy days enjoying nature, the children slept peacefully. We didn't get snow at the Mas, but a 35-minute drive took us to snow and a completely different landscape. The children aren't early sleepers, so the nearby walks were a good way to pass the time before the late risers came down for a delicious breakfast. It really gave us a breather from everyday life. The place is beautiful, a real feast for the eyes, and we even spotted deer as we were leaving, which makes us want to come back 🥰. The hosts are attentive and kind, and you can tell how much they love the property. We wish them all the success they deserve in 2026. Thanks again for making us so welcome, and see you soon.

We spent four lovely days at this beautiful Cévennes farmhouse, surrounded by greenery. After long walks exploring the area, the jacuzzi was a welcome treat. The food was wonderful too: generous breakfasts and evening meals, plus an excellent picnic lunch 😋. Stéphanie and Sébastien are attentive, warm hosts, and made our stay truly unforgettable. We'd love to come back soon for the setting and their hospitality. A bonus for hikers: donkeys accompany walkers, since "Les Hôtes du Châtaignier" is on the Stevenson Trail.
