Holiday Inn Express Bordeaux Lormont, An Ihg

The hotel was quiet at night, and we slept well. It looked fairly new and had the basics we needed, including a buffet breakfast with coffee, cereal, bread, bacon and eggs. It was nice that breakfast was included in the room price. There weren't many guests while we were there, mostly business travellers and a few tourists. We chose this hotel for a weekend in Bordeaux after finding we had some IHG points to use. It's out on the edge of town in a pretty nice area. The nearest tram stop and shopping centre are each about a 20-minute walk, and the closest bus stop is around 10 minutes away. We bought a two-day travel pass and took the metro on a direct route into central Bordeaux. The weather was good, so the walks were no problem. There aren't many facilities, as you'd expect. Free parking is available, though you can't reserve a space, and the car park was less than half full during our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, including with tips for getting around. We had a good stay and would come back. Bordeaux is worth another visit!

Getting around by car was convenient, and the nearest tram stop was about 1.2 km away, still an easy walk. The room was clean and comfortable, and the air conditioning was a lifesaver in the heatwave. Breakfast had plenty of choices and was delicious. Staff were kind and supportive the whole time, doing their best to handle our requests and sort out issues. We really enjoyed our stay and would consider coming back.

The rooms, bathrooms and breakfast lobby were all great. There's also a small bar with drinks, pizza and snacks if you don't feel like going to a restaurant, and a few smaller restaurants are about a 10-minute walk away. We liked the hotel, but getting to central Bordeaux by bus and metro took about an hour, so the location isn't convenient if you want to use public transit to visit the city centre. It's a good option if you're on a budget.

The rooms are comfortable and quiet, with decent showers and good equipment. Breakfast could be better, though the price feels fair for what you get. It's outside Bordeaux, and reaching it can be difficult during rush hour.
