Calvaire

We stayed at Hotel Calvaire for five nights during our first trip to Lourdes, in a group of 15, and I’m already looking forward to coming back. Laura and Peter made the visit special with their warmth and care, always checking that we were comfortable and accommodating our needs. The sanctuary and shrine were just a short walk away, which was more convenient than I’d expected. We ate at the hotel every evening. The meals were simple but delicious, clearly cooked with care by Laura. I’m often called “high maintenance,” but I found my room clean, cozy, and inviting, and the soft, fluffy bed made for restful nights. Hair dryers were available on request, along with umbrellas, raincoats, and even containers for carrying holy water from the sanctuary. Those were thoughtful touches. Our organizer arranged the rooms, and with the reasonable prices for both rooms and meals, our expectations had been modest. We were pleasantly surprised. Thank you, Laura and Peter, for the lovely memories.

Laura and Peter made our first visit to Lourdes feel like a home away from home. Laura cooked us delicious meals every day, and the coffee was great. They also gave us helpful tips and advice about where to go and what to do. I highly recommend Hotel Calvaire, and hope we can return in 2025. God bless you both for all the care you gave us.

My husband and I made our first pilgrimage to Lourdes with good friends. It was a privilege to be welcomed by Laura and Peter, who are both so warm and kind. I hope to visit Lourdes again someday, and I’d definitely choose Hotel Calvaire.

We had clean rooms and toilets, good breakfast and dinner as included in our package, and friendly service and housekeeping staff. Laura and Peter Hassler were superb hosts. God willing, we’ll be back next October, 2025.
