Hotel Helios

We had a great stay here in previous years and would love to come back. We just haven’t been able to get in touch with you. Thank you.

For 7 euros, breakfast was just half a baguette and one croissant, with one tea bag shared among three people. The hotel smelled awful too. Felt like a rip-off.

The food was nicely prepared, and the staff were genuinely friendly. Rooms were functional and spotless, with a dining room, living room, and kitchen as well. A warm welcome and great value for money, it’s hard to ask for more for a pleasant stay. Thank you.

The staff were awful at the end of our stay. We had to leave our suitcases in the lobby, and a woman complained there wasn’t enough room, then handled our things without asking and started throwing and hitting them. The rest of the experience was just as bad. Returning to the hotel meant dealing with a musty smell, and the downstairs toilets stank. Sewage odors followed us even while we ate. In the rooms, we had beds with bolsters but no pillows, and the toilet was right beside the bed, so the smell was hard to ignore at night. The bathroom was tiny, with an accordion-like closure instead of a proper door, and the walls were so thin we could hear everything. There was no privacy. Breakfast was the same every morning and the food wasn’t good. We got one piece of tomato and just two tablespoons of food per person. I was here on pilgrimage with the brotherhood, and the stay was a disaster. I’d give it zero stars if I could. Other unstarred hotels deserve their ratings more than this place, and we wondered how this one got its ratings or whether it had paid for them. Really, avoid it at all costs.
