The owner gave us such a warm welcome. It’s a nice hotel, not far from the city centre, with a good breakfast. They also offer a full dinner at a very friendly price.

Lourdes itself is such a wonderful city that I won’t dwell on this, and I’ll keep making my pilgrimages, just far away from this “guesthouse.” I visit Lourdes every year and spent a few days there at the end of June, when I discovered the Cecilia guesthouse. As a frequent traveller, I gave it 8 out of 10 and wrote a very good review. I thought reviews after a stay were meant to reflect the service, so I was surprised when the guesthouse decided that my rating was too low and refused to issue an invoice. It’s a strange take on business obligations, to say the least. Booking.com doesn’t issue invoices, only receipts, and says the accommodation provider is responsible. I got an invoice for one night, but not for the night paid through Booking.com. The amount is small, but making an invoice conditional on a review that meets expectations is what shocks me. Almost forgot: “May God protect you” seems fitting.

A peaceful spot to recharge after hiking, with bright, quiet rooms and everything we needed. The kitchen was fully equipped, so we could refuel before heading out again. It’s about 10 minutes from the train station and around 20 minutes from the cave. We felt refreshed and really appreciated the lovely welcome, thank you! 🤩👍

After exploring Lourdes, it was lovely to come back to somewhere so quiet. The room was in a beautiful green setting and felt private and secluded. Everything was impeccably clean, with a well-equipped kitchenette and a living room with a modern TV. The staff and management were attentive and very friendly. Thank you, Michele.
