Le Jas De Gordes

Hotel Le Jas de Gordes was a terrific base for our recent trip to Provence, with a perfect location and great staff. Our room was clean and the patio was nice. The pool was just right, and while food options were limited, breakfast and the end-of-day snacks were very good. Highly recommend this 4-star hotel.

The grounds were beautifully maintained, with plenty of interesting spots and little places to relax. Set high above the surrounding countryside, Le Jas was a lovely place for our family stay, and the pool was really nice. The rooms and the rest of the resort were spotless. Breakfast had just about anything you could want, and it was fresh and delicious. Gordes was very close by too. They were extremely accommodating when we had to change our plans and helped us find a great solution. I highly recommend Le Jas for a romantic getaway, a family visit like ours, or even a business trip.

We stayed only one night, which was a shame because our second-floor room had a cute terrace overlooking the central garden, full of pink flowers. The garden and beautiful pool, with its lovely trees, felt full of Provence, and it was one of the best pools I’ve ever experienced. Breakfast was fresh and satisfying, with a great view over the Gordes plain. The staff were capable, welcoming and helpful, and the whole place was very clean. It was easy to walk to Gordes’s main attractions. One caution for families: the road has no separate sidewalk, so walking there with children could be dangerous during the busy holiday season. Thanks for a lovely stay. If I visit Provence again, I’ll stay here.

The beautiful site is just outside Gordes, about a 20-minute walk away. Breakfast was decent, with a good range of teas, but there wasn’t much else to recommend. The hotel felt short on authenticity and charm. Even the 20-cent plastic bottles of Christaline didn’t help. The reception smelled of mold, and our room in the 'Petit Jas' smelled like sewage. We had to pass a large AC unit on the way there, and there were traces of mold in the bathroom. Worst of all, my wife woke up with very itchy bites in a straight line that looked like bed bugs. Avoid this hotel.
