We had a rough start to our two-night stay. We’d emailed to ask for a quiet room but got a classic room on the first floor facing the street. The double glazing didn’t keep out the sound of cars, bikes, or people talking at normal volume, and they couldn’t move us that night. The next morning, they said we’d have to pay extra for a superior room facing inward, claiming Hotels.com had warned that classic rooms could be noisy. When I showed them that Hotels.com had no such note, they dropped the upgrade surcharge. The superior room was very comfortable and quiet, and the hotel is well located, modern, and has super friendly, responsive staff. They even kindly offered us slippers although we’d initially booked a classic room. I hope they make the street-facing setup clear to guests booking classic rooms. Otherwise, I’d recommend the hotel.
