Appart'City Classic Lyon Part-Dieu

We kept waking up to the sound of chairs moving in the hotel lobby or hall. At reception, nobody even apologized when I explained they'd taken my personal towel, apparently mistaking it for the hotel's. Our room was booked for two, but came with only one towel, so I'd used my own. My colleague had it worse, with a cold room and the wrong room type recorded.

The staff were nice, breakfast was good, and the studios were spacious. The location is okay, though there are better placed hotels in central Lyon. Soap for hands would be a basic improvement for an apart hotel, even if they provide fancy shower gel and shampoo. The rooms could be cleaner, and many are in really bad shape. Some are poorly situated too. I'm writing from one where the bed is literally right beside the elevator. For the room quality, it's very expensive. A few nights might be okay, but try somewhere else if you can.

There aren't many places to eat or drink nearby, so you'll need a taxi or metro to explore the city. The staff were friendly, but the rooms and hotel badly need renovation. My room wasn't clean, and I had to make do with just two towels for the stay. Trains outside made it impossible to sleep. Luckily I was drunk the first night, so I slept fine then. I should've read the reviews before booking two nights.

The staff were helpful and very nice, the bed was comfortable, and my room had AC. It's a 12-minute walk from Gare Part-Dieu train station and mall, with a few small cafes and restaurants nearby. The bathrooms were gross, though. The first room they gave me smelled really moldy, and the inside of the bathroom door looked like mushrooms were growing on it. They moved me to a room without that moldy-sock smell, but the shower still looked like the pictures below. The internet kept cutting in and out too, which was really annoying. Happy travels!
