After we left our review, we got messages saying, “you are such a bad girl...etc” The help from Booking was no better. The first night of our trip was wasted. We spent over an hour trying to reach the Host, then had to find somewhere at the last minute and only got accommodation at 4 am. At 7 am the next morning, we got a message about a booking error. It said to write back by 10 if we still wanted to stay, with no apology or understanding, just a deadline to confirm a reservation we’d already paid for. We were exhausted but wanted to enjoy the trip and celebrate our friend, so we agreed to continue rather than lose more time. We were told both rooms would be ready by 2 p.m. Around noon, they said one of the two apartments wasn’t available, and offered us one in another building with two beds instead of three. We reluctantly confirmed anyway and asked for a partial refund since the room was for two, not three, as they had booked. The Host replied, “If you accept, you don't have to trouble me anymore.” Then one apartment was missing its keys, and we didn’t get into the apartments until after 14h, the scheduled time. Worst experience ever. I travel a lot and had never before booked a place only to be left with nowhere to sleep that evening.

The room was great, with a good view and close to everything. We did have trouble getting in through the front door, even with the buzzer.

I felt uncomfortable and unsafe throughout this check-in. Everything was handled over WhatsApp, so the host wasn't there to sort out the problems, and when I called earlier to say car trouble would make us late, she brushed off my concern and later blamed the late arrival. First we were given a room that already had someone in it. The host then directed us to the room next door, but that was occupied too. The man there had apparently checked in a day early by mistake and had already been settled for a couple of hours, though she didn't know about it. He had to leave. There weren't any clean towels because he'd been staying there, and since the host wasn't present, she told me to go into a supply closet and get them myself.

The owner made the stay easy for me, even though I get anxious since I don't travel much. Her clear messages and detailed instructions helped everything go smoothly, and she was attentive to guests. The apartment has a lot of character, with a modern, well-equipped kitchenette and bathroom, and it's good value. It's in a great spot between Terreaux and Saône. It was mostly quiet, though that particular night was a bit unsettled because of current events, which nobody could control. A lovely alternative to staying in a hotel for a break.
