Best Western Crequi Lyon Part Dieu

We got a twin room, and the beds were bigger than usual. It was clean and quiet, with a nice shower, and the check-in staff were friendly. The hotel was good value and well placed: walkable from the train station, with a metro stop just a block away as well as tram and bus routes. There are restaurants nearby too. We skipped breakfast since I never get up in time.

The staff were friendly and helpful, though some didn’t speak English. That’s not a problem in itself, but I’d expect better from an international chain. The rooms felt old, and carpet in the bathroom seemed unhygienic to me. We stayed at Best Western Créqui Lyon for two nights in hot, humid weather, around 34 degrees outside. The AC barely cooled the room, no matter what setting we used. It stayed around 27-28 degrees and humid. We moved from the 4th floor to the 3rd after complaining, and it improved a little, to about 26 degrees Celsius, still too hot to sleep well. We didn’t complain again because we were leaving after two nights. Given the price and comfort, I can’t recommend it, and I personally wouldn’t book it again.

The reviews had me expecting worse. The courtyard inside is lovely, and the renovated rooms are nice, though on the small side. The bed was really good. Great location near the center with easy access, and friendly staff.

I came for work and was pleasantly surprised by how clean and nice the hotel was. The room and bathroom were roomy, and the shower had wonderful water pressure. The service went above and beyond. I’d come back.
