Campanile PRIME - Lyon Centre - Gare Perrache

We only used the hotel to drop our bags for the day, but the staff were super friendly and helpful. If we come back, this is where we’d stay.

The mattress had a worn dip in the middle, and some kind of ventilation system ran through the room, loud enough to sound like a plane overhead. The two gentlemen at reception who wore glasses seemed to have no basic etiquette and looked like they hated their jobs. Cleanliness was terrible. There was so much dust in every corner that you could scoop it up by hand. Under the bed were food leftovers and a duvet left out of place. I guess they use that space for storage? I regret ever staying there. Unfortunately, all of Lyon was booked because of the music festival 🙃.

The daytime staff were welcoming and helpful, and the location was good. Service was good, too, but the hotel’s cleanliness was a disgrace. There was thick dirt around all the windows and appliances, the towels were old and dirty, and the carpets looked as if they hadn’t been cleaned in years. Even the lobby seats were covered in stains. It’s definitely the dirtiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in.

The location is great if cleanliness doesn’t matter to you. The hotel was unbelievably dirty. We lifted the blanket and found period blood on the bed, and the lobby sofas were extremely dirty. The staff were friendly, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here because of how filthy it was.
