Cour des Loges Lyon, A Radisson Collection Hotel

The spa was a mixed part of our stay. It has a nice pool, hammam and sauna, but two children were jumping into the pool, shouting and running around, which made it hard to relax. The area had no staff around, used towels were left about, and the floor was so slippery in slippers that I nearly fell twice. Perhaps the spa could be adults only after 5pm. That aside, we had a fantastic time at Cour de Loges and would gladly stay again when we travel to the south of France. It's close to shops, bars and cafés, and the staff were warm, welcoming and professional from check-in. Tanya made delicious cocktails at the relaxing bar, and Cecile at Le Comptoir was lovely. The food there was fantastic, the service great, and the prices very reasonable for a five-star hotel. Breakfast was among the best we've had at a five-star hotel in Europe. Our room was comfortable, clean and very quiet, with a stocked minibar, complimentary water, and tea and coffee facilities. There were only two small hooks in the bathroom, though, so there wasn't enough space to hang coats and towels. The hotel is dog friendly, and valet parking was available at a very reasonable cost.

Getting to the hotel can be tricky since it's in a pedestrian zone, so call ahead for the entry password. Once there, the historic shared spaces are lovely, and the bar and restaurant area are incredible. The rooms are nicely decorated and breakfast is plentiful. It's been beautifully renovated.

You can wander through the many sitting rooms and other areas of this grand old hotel, all so thoughtfully furnished. It's been updated and feels comfortable and beautiful. The rooms are lovely, the food is excellent, and the staff are kind, professional and happy to help. I highly recommend it.

We arrived by car quite late, and driving into the old town was a little challenging. The hotel staff gave excellent instructions and the required entry code, though, and parking was easy. At check-in the staff welcomed us warmly and upgraded our room without us asking. The building has recently reopened after being closed for a few years. It has an elevator, but our room involved going up one flight of stairs and then down another, which could be difficult for someone with mobility limitations. The layout felt maze-like while I was finding my way around, and we were only there for one night. The room was spacious, quiet and well appointed, with lovely exposed ceiling beams that gave it a medieval castle feel. Double-glazed outer windows and a single-pane inner window helped block outside noise. The bathroom was large and clean but a bit worn, which surprised me after the refurbishment; it seemed the rooms had been redone while some bathroom items were left as they were. I'd stay again for the location near the attractions and the wonderful staff.
