Hotel du Simplon

I only stayed one night after switching at the last minute from a nearby hotel where I’d had a terrible experience, so I didn’t see much of the place. They let me drop my bags off early, and by the time I came back to check in, they’d already taken them to my room. I paid for a single room, though I’m not sure if that’s what I got or if I was upgraded. It was quite spacious for a European hotel, with about 6’ on one side of the bed and 2’ on the other. The bed was an American Full, not a twin, and there were outlets built into it, which was convenient. The bathroom was incredibly small, barely bigger than an airplane bathroom. There was some street noise at night from cars, not loud people, but the heavy curtains helped a bit. For the price, I’d gladly stay again.

We found the room big enough for two, though it wasn’t especially large. The hotel is fairly close to the center, and our room was very clean and quiet, with decent soundproofing. We didn’t have breakfast, but it’s available.

A cosy, homey little hotel with a nice atmosphere, right in the center, which worked well for a city break. The staff were very helpful, and I enjoyed the breakfast.

After a really bad experience at the first hotel I’d booked, I was lucky to find this lovely place. The staff were kind and accommodating. I was able to check in early after asking, since I hadn’t slept much and had a match that afternoon. The room was cute and quiet, with an elevator and air conditioning. Breakfast was really good and gave me what I needed to start the day. I also appreciated that the hotel supports the local community and makes environmentally conscious choices.
