A real delight, in a great location. There’s a Vélo'V station 20 meters away, and plenty of lovely places to discover on foot within a 15-minute walk. The decor is pleasant and simple. Isabelle clearly loves welcoming guests with cakes, tapas, jams, and all sorts of charcuterie, so beware, it’s a calorie trap. There are more calorie bombs on the street just below, too. A couple of things to keep in mind: like many old Lyon houses, the windows look onto a very dark patio, so look elsewhere if you want to have lunch in the sunshine. And the mezzanine stairs are quite steep, as they often are. Watch your step!

The late arrival turned into a real test of the host’s kindness. An air traffic controllers’ strike in Lyon cancelled my flight, then delayed the next one, so I got in eleven hours after we’d arranged. Isabelle kept in touch the whole time and even had a generous dinner ready, though it was already 2 a.m. She was quick to help with anything throughout the stay. The place itself is just as pictured, small and cozy, and a good fit for two. Its spot in central Lyon, on the peninsula between the rivers, is excellent, close to the old town and public transport. There’s no room service, of course, but being able to manage things on our own schedule was a plus. I’d recommend the breakfast option too: for the extra cost, the fridge comes stocked, which is handy. I know where I’ll stay next time I’m in Lyon: Les Allées de Bellecour. Merci pour tout Isabelle!

They even had a little welcome drink and a thoughtful treat for our dog. The owner was so kind, and we had a really lovely stay. It’s a charming, peaceful, clean place that I’d happily recommend. Thanks for making us feel so welcome.

The owners make you feel right at home, and the tasty snacks waiting to welcome you were such a nice touch. It’s clean and pleasant, allows pets, and has Wi-Fi. I’d recommend visiting for a lovely stay, and I’d be glad to come back.
