Vieux Lyon, Fourviere-Saint Georges

We had a great five-night stay in early January 2024, with our family of four, in the one-bedroom duplex. It's a historic place in the heart of Vieux-Lyon, just 2 minutes from the metro and funicular. Restaurants in Vieux-Lyon and Place Bellecour are within a 10 minute walk. The apartment was roomy, with a sitting area, dining space, kitchenette, separate bedroom and two single beds in a loft above it. The one bathroom had both a shower and spa bath, and the setup worked well for us. The loft ceiling is very low, with old beams, so our teenage kids were comfortable sleeping there but couldn't stand upright. Everything in the apartment was in good condition and worked properly, from the fridge with freezer and dishwasher to the washing machine, oven and excellent coffee machine. Clear instructions were provided. The owners also left a generous selection of cold breakfast food, including pastries to warm in the oven, juice, yoghurt, cereal, tea and coffee. Their communication before and during the stay was prompt, friendly and helpful. If possible, I'd book directly with them. They arranged a private departure transfer for us, which was a great service, see Les Drivers Airport de Lyon. The Visit Lyon card was useful too, as it includes a free walking tour around Vieux-Lyon. It gave us a lovely insight into the area's history.

We had a really nice stay in this beautifully renovated apartment. Everything was clean, the staff were friendly, and there was a big breakfast selection. I'd definitely recommend it for a fun night out with friends or a team event :)

Vieux Lyon is such a good base for daily walks through the narrow cobbled streets, and the outstanding Basilica is about 15 minutes away. We were welcomed with clear instructions, and breakfast was free, with frozen croissants and pains au chocolat. Our flat was a bit too small for us, though, and the kitchen and bathroom could use some professional updating. That's why we didn't rate it higher.

We stayed for two nights and would book again if we're in Lyon. The room was quiet and had enough space for two. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and Vieux Lyon metro is about a 2 minute walk away. Parking is available around a 5 minute walk from the property. The cooking setup is fine for a quick meal, and there's a washer-dryer.
