Lydia made gluten-free pancakes and pie for me at breakfast, which was AMAZING. She also offered us a complimentary champagne tasting when we arrived. She's a wonderful host, and Épernay is only about a 20-minute walk away. We spent two nights at Passion et Terrior and couldn't have been happier. If you're considering booking, DO IT!

The town isn't far, and the rooms are fresh and clean. This is a lovely B&B run by an amazing couple, and the breakfast is second to none!

Getting to Epernay centre is easy from here, about 1.5kms on foot, and Uber or a taxi is readily available and pretty cheap. The place is in Mardeuil rather than Epernay, but that worked well for us. We spent three nights here and loved how personal it felt, almost like staying with family. Lydie and Francis were kind, lively and passionate about what they do, and always went the extra mile when we needed help. They don't speak English and we don't speak French, but we still had lovely chats with Google Translate. We stayed in both The Wine Cellar and The Cave. Each room is distinctive, with the sleeping space separate from the sitting area. The Cave felt a bit more luxurious, while The Wine Cellar had a spacious seating area. The hosts made some of the furniture and wall paintings themselves, which gave the rooms a personal touch. The huge homemade breakfast deserves a mention: there were more than 10 sweet and savoury options every morning, all delicious. We were full and still wanted more. We also toured the wine cellar and shared a bottle of their house champagne with the hosts. We only spotted the option to taste their different champagnes on our last night, so we missed out. It's a good reason to come back to the Champagne region. A memorable stay, highly recommended! 🍾🍇
