The room was so unlivable that we left after the first night, even though we’d booked two. There were no working lights, and the door wouldn’t close. I stayed here recently with my fiancé, and the conditions were completely unacceptable. Save yourself the stress and avoid this place.

We loved how quiet the tucked-away setting was, while still being able to walk to the beach and take cabs to the Old Port for sightseeing. The pool was gorgeous, and enjoying wine there on a hot summer afternoon was a treat. We also had breakfast at the Chateau, partly for convenience and partly to sit in the beautiful garden dining area. The grounds and facilities are full of charm, and the check-in and service throughout were attentive and made us feel cared for. Our room was spacious and lovely, with extremely comfortable beds. The large, comfortable sofa bed worked well for the three of us friends. It was a lovely place to relax for two nights, and the cleanliness, space and comfort were all a real treasure. There was one hiccup at checkout. We’d requested breakfast for a specific time, but the attendant didn’t start preparing it until our whole party was seated. We had a train to catch, and the rest of us were checking out, settling bills and moving luggage. Everything else was wonderful. We’d recommend it and would return if we’re back in the area.

The staff looked after us so attentively during our two days there, and the food and drinks were delicious. We arrived to refreshments and help getting our luggage upstairs. The hotel is beautiful, charming and well presented, and you can feel how much care goes into making the stay memorable. We had a great time from beginning to end and would recommend it to anyone visiting Marseilles and the surrounding area.

We paid €250pp for what we expected to be a curated cooking class and dinner, but the evening left us feeling like unpaid staff. The class itself was private and pleasant, though we didn’t stay at the hotel. Dinner was chaotic, with the chef trying to cook for us and a full restaurant at once. Three couples waited over 30 minutes and left without being served. We were left with empty plates and glasses, had to ask the manager to clear the table, and the waiter/barman was rude. He asked, “What do you want?” and seemed annoyed that we were speaking English. The food we had prepared was served to other guests. Completely unacceptable.
