Getting around was easy, with buses close by, and the location was perfect. I stayed four nights with my husband. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and breakfast had almost anything you could think of. The hotel is beautifully decorated, and our room was spacious, clean, and quiet, with a comfortable bed. The one drawback was the AC: it didn’t work properly at night, so the room got a little too warm.
The location by the Vieux Port is the big draw here, with cafés, boat trips, museums, and public transport all within walking distance. Harbour views are worth considering if they fit your budget, and it’s sensible to ask for a quieter room if street or port noise might bother you. Check whether the rooftop pool will be open during your dates, since season or maintenance can affect it. Families and longer-stay guests should confirm room layouts and connecting room availability. If you’re driving, parking may cost more than at hotels outside the city centre, so plan for that. Summer weeks get busy, so book early for the best room choices; quieter seasons may mean better rates and fewer people at the pool. In short, it’s a stylish base right by the Old Port with a great setting and views. Check your room category and keep expectations about service details in mind.
I arrived early and they had a wonderful room ready for me. The concierge suggestions were excellent, and the service really impressed me. After checkout I realized I’d left some books behind. They found them and mailed them to the UK for a small fee. The hotel is great for business or sightseeing, in a fantastic, safe part of Marseilles, with very good facilities. Highly recommended, and a real credit to the Radisson Blu brand.
I haven’t arrived yet, but I’m already disappointed. I took care choosing both the hotel and my budget, and now I’m being asked to pay extra for the room I selected. The extra charge ranges from 22€ to 122€, so keep that in mind before booking. It’s starting to feel like the low cost airlines.
