Marseillecity - Loft Side Room

We really enjoyed our three days here. The room was beautifully decorated and spotless, and the breakfast was generous, tasty, and had something for every taste. Getting around was easy, with bus, tram, and metro stops nearby. The old port is also close, about a 20-minute walk. Christopher was lovely and ready to help with whatever we needed, including suggesting things to do in the city that we might not have thought of.

Breakfast brought right to the room was one of the best we’ve had at a hotel. Our group of four adults also found the beds very comfortable, and the rooms were set up well, with everything we needed and excellent climate control. The building itself is a little unusual, but the location is really handy: about a block from a Metro station, with the old town, port, museums, and great restaurants all easy to reach on foot. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The building entrances look pretty rustic, so don’t let that put you off. The rooms themselves are in impeccable shape and nicely equipped. Christoff, the owner/manager, was extremely kind and helpful, with lots of suggestions for places to go and things to do. It’s a great base for exploring Marseille, and the accommodation is superb for a very reasonable price.

Street noise was the main drawback for me. Even with the central location, it could get loud outside and make it hard to sleep. Soundproof windows or even earplugs for guests might help. Otherwise, I’d give MarseilleCity - chambres et Appartements d'hôtes à Marseille a solid 4 out of 5. The rooms were clean, spacious, comfortable, and well equipped, and it was easy to get to Marseille’s attractions. The host was warm and attentive from the moment I arrived, brought breakfast to my door each day, and we had some lovely conversations about the city and the things that bring us joy. I’d recommend it for a comfortable, convenient stay, and with a few changes it could be a five-star experience.
