Domaine De La Hechaie

We went with three young kids, including a baby, and everyone had a lovely holiday. The chalets are roomy, spotless, and very well equipped, with great beds. The pool was clean, heated, and really pleasant. It’s a quiet, natural setting, though you do need a car or bike to get to shops or the beach.

There’s plenty to see within about a 20-minute drive, from picturesque villages and evening markets to beaches, Parc Branféré, and other sights. We were a family of four and loved how quiet the estate was, with only around 20 chalets and bungalows, no organized entertainment, evening noise, or crowds. The chalet was very tidy, had shutters, and the basics for preparing some food. The indoor pool is modern and very clean, handy for cooling off on hot days. You can dry off or warm up on the adjoining terrace, and read or nap there too. There’s a little playground for younger kids and an enclosed football area for burning off energy. One small drawback: the receptionist is so busy that she isn’t often at her desk, so you may have to wait for her to come back. We’d gladly stay again if we get the chance. A top spot for a peaceful base while exploring this part of Brittany.

The rental was clean, and the staff were attentive and helpful. We had no hot water when we arrived, but it was sorted out within an hour. The dishwasher was a nice surprise since it wasn’t listed in the description. Phone reception was a little tricky. The pool and paddling pool were just the right temperature, and the peaceful, well-located setting made for a pleasant stay at Domaine de la Héchaie. I’d recommend this lovely property.

The ponds make for lovely scenery, and the whole place is so calm. Our chalet was comfortable and had everything we needed. A really lovely experience.
