Logis Hostellerie le Vert

I’ve been coming here for nearly 20 years, which says plenty about how special it is. Eva and Bernard Philippe have made it a beautiful, quiet place to unwind, whether you’re travelling as a couple or with friends. The bedrooms are spacious, airy and light, with garden views. There’s an elegant restaurant and a magical covered terrace. The food is wonderful, made with local, seasonal ingredients, and the menu changes each week.

The food Bernard cooks is as lovely to look at as it is to eat, and Bernard and Eva greet you with real warmth. My room was cool and comfortable even in the hottest weather, with cozy furnishings and a window onto the garden. Sitting peacefully on the terrace among its flower pots and rustling trees, I felt as if I’d wandered into a painting or a beautiful film. The whole place has a dreamy, romantic mix of elegance, glamour and rustic charm. I can’t wait to return.

I’ve stayed here three times now for a weeklong piano course in July, and I’ll definitely be back in future years. Eva and Bernard are welcoming, charming hosts, and the air conditioned rooms are comfortable and delightful. Bernard is a wonderfully versatile, talented chef, and the food is fantastic. The hotel is in quiet countryside, with local towns within easy reach and Cahors about half an hour away. Bergerac airport is an easy 60 minute drive, while Toulouse is around 90 minutes away. I’d wholeheartedly recommend it.

We’ve been coming back to Le Vert for at least ten years, and that says a lot. It’s quiet and relaxing, with good accommodation and excellent food. We’ll be back next year.
