Residence Goelia Belle Epoque

Reception was closed for almost our entire Monday-to-Thursday stay, apart from the evening and morning after we arrived, so we couldn’t speak with staff about any of the problems. I’m not sure what they could have done anyway. The pool was really cold, even though they said they were following government recommendations, and I’m not usually sensitive to cold. Our recently renovated accommodation still felt old-fashioned and unpleasant, even ugly. The paintwork was careless, the equipment was low-end, the furniture was worn, and the ventilation didn’t work well. There was a constant cooking smell from when we arrived, including in the toilets. While walking around Tréport, 15 minutes away, we saw another Goélia residence that had just opened and was brand new. It looked as if a good part of the budget went into sprucing up that property, while ours was neglected.

The apartment could use an update, especially the thin mattresses, sofa bed, and curtains. The Tréport residence looks more modern, so some investment here would be welcome. The setting is hard to fault: under 50 meters from the seafront, opposite the mini golf course and beside the market. Staff were always smiling, and the pool was clean. The large pool was lovely and warm, though the smaller one wasn’t, which was a shame.

We won’t be coming back. During our New Year’s stay with children aged 2, 4, and 6, things got very noisy: DJ Lourdingue played loud music from his balcony with microphone announcements and a light show. There was also a thumping party in the parking lot to welcome 2026, then a “cheucheu” parade through the hallways with doorbells ringing all over the place. The location is excellent for the seafront, cycle and walking paths, and play areas like the pump track. Staff were welcoming despite being short-handed, and the food options were satisfactory. On paper, the indoor pool and kitchenette apartments make it seem like good value. But the place is aging, and staffing levels and cleanliness need serious attention. Hygiene was an issue in the accommodations, dishes, and water park, and the hotel looks outdated. Breakfast cost about the same as elsewhere but offered less for the money: hot drinks, bread, and pastries, with no savory choices. Best of luck to the team.

The pool and free outdoor parking were real bonuses. Apartments are fairly spacious, though a little dated, and the reception was adequate. The residence is in a very good location.
