Hotel Escurial

The location is very good, close to the train station and not far from attractions like the museums. The staff were friendly. My room was very small, and there was a strange bottle of liquid in the fridge, as shown in the picture, so I didn't use it because I was concerned. Maybe the hotel staff know what it is? If so, please tell me, I'd be interested.

We were there for just one night and arrived late, so we found a free street parking spot around the corner. It's free until 9am. In the morning we paid for two hours so we could walk around and see the Cathedral. The hotel is very central and convenient for exploring downtown on foot. The girl at reception kindly gave us a walking map. The room was small but fine for one night, and the place was spotless. Still, the bathroom had a bad smell, and the pillows were terrible, just as many others have said. I had to bunch up my jacket and sweatshirt for extra support. The price and location were good, though, so it worked for a one-night stay.

We stayed with friends, and the price was good for what you get. The rooms were clean, breakfast was very nice with enough choice, and the staff were friendly. It's an easy walk into the city. I think we'd come back.

I stayed for three nights and had a great experience. The bed was comfortable, and the staff were extremely friendly. On the first night they said they'd given me a complimentary upgrade, which I think meant a king-sized bed instead of a smaller one. I can't think of a reason to give fewer stars. The rooms are basic, including the carpet quality, and because it's a cheaper hotel it may be a last-minute choice for a lot of people. Even so, I heard very little noise.
