Hôtel du Théâtre

For the price, location, and free parking, this worked well for our one-night stop to break up a journey. The location was great, and Stanislav at the desk was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and well equipped, though I was a little disappointed to find two single beds pushed together instead of a double. The back of the hotel could use some repairs and better care, perhaps because of the time of year. If you set expectations a bit below the pictures online, it's a good deal. Great location, amazing to have free parking, and a great price!

For the money, I thought it was fine. I checked it out for myself after reading the other reviews. The hotel is old, and the carpeted hallway smelled and needs regular cleaning. The place needs renovation. My room had two windows, which helped with the heat since there’s no AC. The bed and pillows were comfortable, the TV was a good size, and I could watch YouTube. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking was free, but getting into the garage is very tight, so it’s best for small cars or confident drivers. There’s plenty of space inside. All in all, worth the money if you're short on cash and need somewhere to sleep near the city, at a three-star level.

This place has its own kind of charisma and fits the medieval city. We booked a superior room, which was huge, clean, and well furnished, at the side by the river. The bed was very comfortable. The location is great, the service friendly and helpful, and the hall looks lovely. We only had coffee at breakfast, but it was very good and nicely served. There’s a lot of wear and neglected maintenance around the building. The bathtub used as a shower had black blotches, its edge was broken and loose, and we had to let the water run for five minutes before it warmed up. We used the staircase only once even though we were on the first floor. It seems there’s an effort to improve things, but that’s a big job in such an old, large house. If you don't go looking into the dark corners, it's a great place to stay.

My room was clean, and the reception staff were helpful and friendly. The location is lovely, within walking distance of the main sights and the Christmas markets. Just be aware the hot water takes a while to reach the tap.
