Hotel Kyriad Metz Centre

We stopped in Metz for a night to take a break from driving from Germany to Paris. The hotel is centrally located and good value for the price. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. The wine was good, and breakfast impressed us more than dinner, though food is a matter of personal taste. Even in the city center, the nights were quiet and mornings very peaceful. I don't really understand the complaints about room size. Rooms tend to be small across the country, whether in hotels or apartments. If you're expecting a palace, the price should reflect that. We had no trouble with the water, and our room was clean and tidy. A good place to spend the night after a long drive.

The location is great for exploring Metz, and breakfast was good. Staff were excellent. The rooms are a bit small and worn, but the beds are really comfortable, with memory foam pillows.

The breakfast buffet offered lots of choice, and reception were friendly and helpful. The rooms are compact but functional.

It's an easy walk from the hotel to the train station and the pedestrian center, even with the disruptive roadwork happening now. The room was clean enough, the bed was comfortable, but the room felt quite dark because the lights were dim. The free Wi-Fi didn't work very well, though the nearby roadwork may explain that. Service was mixed. The receptionist at check-in did his job but didn't seem very interested, so the welcome could've been warmer. Other staff members were friendlier later on. Breakfast was good and had a nice range of products.
