The food looked lovely, but the flavors were odd and didn’t balance well. The kitchen was also extremely slow. We were there for two hours and got only the starter.

Our group of six had dinner at Le Globe, which was easy to get to. We loved the food and the wine choices. It was one of our favorite restaurants during our 13-day trip through Europe, including France, Switzerland, Germany, and Holland.

Meursault is welcoming and relaxing, and a great place for small-town charm, vineyards, wine tasting, and biking among the vines. Check-in was fantastic: they showed us a larger two-bedroom suite and helped carry our luggage upstairs. There’s no elevator because of the building’s age, but the room was spacious and very clean. We also had dinner at the hotel, and the meal and experience were on par with top restaurants that cost $1,000 per person. We started with a bottle of wine and appetizers in the sitting room, then moved to our table for the main meal and another bottle. For four people, the three-hour meal came to €400 all in. I can’t recommend it enough if you enjoy the finer things in life.

The restaurant looks lovely and the service was good, but I wasn’t impressed by the food. It’s designed to look great in photos, though the flavors don’t always work together on the plate. We tried the €75 menu to sample as much as we could. The scallop was probably the best part.
