The room itself was simple but fine, and the staff were friendly. But the bath and shower cubicles need a deep clean, as did the room. The floor in mine looked as if it had never been swept. We were meant to check out at noon, but they try to get you out by 9 a.m. The cleaning trolley was left at the door around 8 or 9 to put pressure on us to leave. At night, the entrance is hard to find because there aren’t many visible signs. I wouldn’t recommend it. I stayed only because it was the cheapest budget hotel at that time of year.

The receptionist was very kind and available, and the place was really nice. There’s a large parking lot and a small outdoor terrace. The 24-hour check-in is handy too, since you can go out partying without worrying about what time you get back.

The cancellation process was easy and there wasn’t much discussion, which was one good thing. The room we were given was dirty, with dust, grime, and a used cotton swab on the floor, plus short dark hairs on the heater. I asked them to clean it or move us, but when we came back it looked exactly the same, apart from the swab being thrown away.

The rooms were clean and the breakfast was decent for such a low price, but the shared bathrooms were a major turn-off. There’s no bathroom attached to the rooms, and the common ones were often dirty or out of toilet paper. Nobody seemed to check them regularly after late evening.

Good if you’re trying to save money, just outside Aix en Provence. The room is very small but does the job, and the private toilet is basic but okay.
