There are lots of spots close to the river, some with an epic sunset right there, and a nice playground for kids around 3-8. The heated pool area was great, and the whole place was clean, comfortable and professionally run, with a cosy, familiar feel. Beautiful town too, with hiking and running trails just around the corner and magnificent views. The local restaurants serve excellent snack food.

We’ll definitely come back. It’s a beautiful, tranquil site with lovely hosts, and the facilities are second to none for the price. The pitches by the river are mostly under the trees, which you’ll appreciate when it’s 34c, though there are still places to sit in the sun. Highly recommended.

The pool area was lovely and clearly well looked after, and the owners were friendly and welcoming. We stopped for just one night while on a canoe tour. The snack bar was handy, and the burgers were really good when we didn’t feel like cooking. The bathroom facilities were decent value, though I’d have preferred toilet seats, since sitting directly on the porcelain was uncomfortable. I’d be very happy to visit again.

We spent four lovely nights here last week and got a great pitch beside the Dordogne. It was fairly quiet as the season was winding down, and we could watch the river activity and wildlife. There’s kayak and canoe hire with a pick-up and drop-off point, plus fabulous cycling around the countryside. The pool was a nice way to cool down with temperatures in the 30s. A little gem, with particularly friendly and helpful owners. We’ll make a point of visiting again when we’re next in the area. Highly recommended.

Our stay was a very poor experience. We’d booked and paid in advance in March for one night, arriving by canoe the evening before last. The pitch we were shown was in a crowded spot beside an unattractive hut near reception, a few feet from the toilet block. A live band was setting up just metres away and apparently playing until 11pm. Our view was of another open hut below, with rusty fridges stored there. We’ve stayed at many Dordogne campsites, and this felt like squeezing in an extra plot at the expense of the customer experience. We asked reception for a quieter spot because other parts of the campsite looked quite nice, but were told they were full and this was the only place. My child speaks better French, so I asked them to tell reception we were unhappy, that it was too noisy, and that we wouldn’t stay. We were both tired and upset, and also said, “forget about the money.” The receptionist didn’t seem to think there was a problem and said it would be quiet after 11pm. There was road noise from the nearby bridge too. We packed up and canoed to a less crowded campsite opposite, with a nice view and no noise. Once we were set up there, we felt the campsite shouldn’t have sold that spot as a pitch. I emailed with the reasons and politely asked for a refund. There were several emails back and forth. I asked them to reconsider and said I’d leave a review to warn others, but reception refused, eventually saying we’d told them not to worry about the money. We had said that at the time, but later felt it wasn’t right to sell a pitch in an area that, in our view, shouldn’t have been sold. A refund would have been a nice gesture. It’s the principle, not the money. The site probably has nice areas, but I suggest researching where you’ll be placed. They’ll probably say we “threatened” to leave a bad review. That’s incorrect: I only said it after several emails and made clear I felt others should be warned. Otherwise, what’s the point of reviews? I gave them every chance to do the right thing. Interesting to read Fabian's rude replies to other negative reviews on Google too, speaks volumes.
