The place feels like it may have had better days, and the prices made that harder to overlook. Dinner was especially expensive, with wine costing far more than it seemed worth, and the service didn’t justify the bill. We were four friends passing through by car on Sept 23rd. It was cold in the house, there was no heating, and we had to wait nearly five minutes for hot water in the morning. Still, credit to the owner and his wife, who are both well into their 80s and continue to run the place. Maybe it’s time for a younger generation to take over.

We had planned five nights but left after just one and found somewhere else. We’d booked a room advertised on the website with a nice view and a walk-in shower. Instead, we looked out at a garbage dump and had a small bathroom with only a bath. The hotel has four stars, though the rooms looked as if they hadn’t been cared for in twenty years: a broken windowsill, loose wallpaper, and mold and fungus in the bathroom. It didn’t seem to have been cleaned either. Dust was everywhere, and there were lots of bugs, alive and dead. Wasps were all over the place, so eating dinner inside wasn’t possible.

I first stayed here with my parents when I was a child, and we came back several times. The hotel has a completely unique atmosphere, and the region is so beautiful, with lots to see. To me, it’s the most beautiful hotel in the world. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed if you stay here.

We got very bad value for money. The dinner was a letdown too: it looked good, but tasted awful. The staff tried their best, but couldn’t cover up the farce. The place is terribly neglected and needs renovation ASAP. Do yourself a favor and stay away.
