Le Relais Du Gué De Selle

The breakfast was pretty ordinary, and the receptionist or owner came across as snooty and rude. We found the place overpriced. We paid extra for a Superior room, only to discover it was basically the same as a standard room. We switched to a standard room because the website gave the wrong bed details for the family rooms, then the hotel ignored our emails asking for the price difference back. After we posted the review, and had already waited two months for an email reply, the hotel answered with several claims we felt were untrue. Their response tone gives you an idea of what to expect there.

Being vegetarian was difficult since there wasn't a main course option for me. The restaurant also wasn't open every night, which was a problem because there's nowhere else to eat nearby. The staff weren't very pleasant, though the hotel itself was lovely to stay in, with very good facilities and a great spot right beside a lake.

We had a quiet, civilised lunch in a beautiful place beside the lake, with a pretty terrace and gardens. The food was good and the service exceptional. It also seems like a good place to stay. Recommended.

We stayed in the wooden cabane, which made the visit really special. They even bring breakfast out to the cabane up in the tree! The restaurant is really nice, facing the lake. Highly recommended.
