Gîtes de Launay Guibert

There was plenty of room for our group of eight, five adults and three children aged 8-14. We rented both gîtes, and they were clean, spacious, comfortable, and fully equipped. The extensive grounds made it a lovely place to unwind. Mr et Madame de Bonfils were welcoming, helpful, and very kind throughout. We’d highly recommend staying here. Our sincere thanks to them for their kindness.

The location worked well for us because we had an event nearby. The hosts are friendly and come by for a chat, but it was hard to see that as genuine once we found that the breakfast jam was several years past its expiration date, and the jarred jam had moldy filaments. I feel that’s disrespectful, and we could have had food poisoning if I hadn’t checked the label. At €200 a night, the breakfast was downright outrageous. The orange juice was bottled, and it felt like minimum cost and quality at customers’ expense, so I’d avoid breakfast here. The room wasn’t clean enough, and you can be seen showering from the garden because the curtains don’t close all the way. The toilet is a macerator and needs multiple flushes.

Breakfast was generous and refined, and we were met with a warm, very professional welcome. The property is magnificent, with a spacious, charming room and thoughtful touches. Such an enchanting setting made for a superb stay. I highly recommend it!

The host was kind and friendly, and housekeeping was top-notch. Sheets and towels were available on request. We spent two days in the chalet and were surprised by how large it was, with the whole house to ourselves. The barn had ping pong and roller skates for our children, and nothing was missing. A quaint place surrounded by nature, truly beautiful.
