The bright room was beautiful, and the hotel felt comfortable and chic. We found the staff friendly and helpful, the location was excellent, and breakfast was lovely. Absolutely loved the whole stay.

The room suited our needs, and relaxing by the pool was nice. I’d recommend this accommodation, though a more pleasant welcome from the host would have made the stay better. We’d booked one night in May and arrived at 13:30. I knocked twice and could hear someone behind the door; after I knocked again, a man answered. I explained I had a reservation, and he said maybe, went to check, and shut the door on me. When he came back, he told us to return at 15:00 hours. He didn’t offer to take our cases, so we put our luggage back in the car and had lunch in the square. He was very abrupt and rude then, though more polite when we checked in.

The private pool was lovely to relax in, and Monpazier’s magnificent square is only a few steps away. Our room’s aircon was a blessing during the heatwave. Inside, the hotel has been extensively refurbished, with a nice mix of old and modern.

The pool was a welcome relief in the 38 degree heat. This small, beautiful boutique hotel has been lovingly restored, with tasteful decor and quality fittings, and the staff were extremely helpful. We’ll be back!
