Getting to the slopes was easy, and we were very happy with our stay. The rooms were clean and breakfast had plenty of choices. The staff were so welcoming and went out of their way to make sure we were happy. Highly recommend.

There was lots of choice at breakfast, and a couple of times a week we were even offered fried eggs and bacon, a lovely surprise. The afternoon cakes, served from 4 to 6, were another thoughtful extra. Some evenings also had activities, including free yoga, live music and a mountaineer's talk. Hotel Valentin is family-run and incredibly friendly. We had a spacious, clean room, a comfortable bed, a great shower, and liked having the toilet separate from the shower and sink. There was no in-room fridge or safe, though we didn't miss either. The heated boot and ski room was useful, close to Belle Etoile, with the rest of the piste reachable from there. The lift to the other side of the resort is a four-minute walk away. We had a fantastic ski-in experience and would definitely come back and recommend it.

A few things could be better: there was no fridge, though we made use of the balcony, we had to ask for a hair dryer, and the beds and pillows could be comfier. There was mould in the bathroom, although it was clean. We loved the location by Belle étoile, with restaurants nearby and the centre about a ten-minute walk away. The ski and boot room was easy to access. Staff were lovely, and after skiing there were free cakes and a cosy bar with a log fire. Breakfast had lots of options, including a make-your-own pancake station. We ate at the restaurant twice and really enjoyed the food.

It's a quiet spot, away from nightclubs and loud pubs, which was a godsend. The owner was always around and pleasant, while Ophelia at the bar and night reception and Hugo behind the bar were both great. They were happy to help with anything. When we got back from the slopes, there was always free cake or other food at the bar. The rooms suited our stay well, and the shower had a strong spray, just right after skiing. Breakfast was spot on, with plenty of choice, a coffee machine and a pancake maker. The breakfast staff were helpful despite not speaking much English. It has a fantastic family feel and is one of the better hotels I've stayed in. Thanks for having us, Mark, Sharon and Osian Wells.
