Chambres et tables d'hôtes de la Bégaudière

At check-in, we waited 15 minutes before anyone came to the front desk. We hardly saw the hosts, even over breakfast, which was disappointing for a bed and breakfast. The sheets also didn't look especially clean. Overall, it wasn't a great stay.

Such a lovely place, and the management is just wonderful and so welcoming!

The room was noisy, with the nearby highway and very thin walls, and the bathroom was tiny. Breakfast was sparse and very processed. On arrival, a young woman hurried over to tell us to move our car from an unmarked space because it was “their” parking spot. We stood in the rain, and the staff were unfriendly. Apparently, the hosts don't want us back. It's a shame, since we'd never run into this sort of problem before.

The room and bedding were comfortable, and it was handy for reaching the GR hiking trail. I also enjoyed talking with the host, who was warm and helpful. But finding someone when we needed help was difficult. There wasn't much explanation when we arrived, the house was empty when we left, our reserved meal wasn't provided, breakfast was basic, and the shower was barely lukewarm. The welcome overall lacked the warmth and personal attention I expect from a bed and breakfast. After the stay, I emailed a detailed, constructive review and never got a reply. I regret that. With a more personal, attentive welcome, the experience could have been completely different.
