The garden and the Maine River looked lovely from our pink room, and we really enjoyed staying there. Alain's house has an old-time charm, the kind of place where time seems to move at its own pace. One to remember and recommend.

I wanted a quiet break and found it here. The house dates from the 1850s and sits in a peaceful, country-like setting, yet it's right in town with nice walks close by. Alain is a lovely, attentive host. I'm already looking forward to coming back.

The garden alone is a reason to stay at Gîte Les Cèdres de Montaigu. The owner clearly loves gardening and can tell you about all the plants beneath the centuries-old cedar trees with real enthusiasm. The gîte itself is very comfortable and beautifully decorated, and we were welcomed so warmly. The area is lovely too, with La Digue just 200 meters away for a memorable meal. What a beautiful place.
