Moxy Paris Val D’Europe

The modern, welcoming feel made for a comfortable and pleasant stay at Moxy Paris Val d’Europe. The train station is under a five-minute walk away, so getting to Disneyland Paris was really easy. My only small complaint is that Wi-Fi was under 8 Mbps, which made streaming a movie difficult. Otherwise, I had a great stay and would happily recommend it.

We were glad we chose this hotel. It's handy for both the outlet and Disneyland, which is one station away, and the outlet is walkable. The room was functional, and the smart TV was a nice touch. There are lots of places to sit downstairs, and we liked the fitness area. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, apart from one woman with long, curly, dark brown hair. If you don't book an executive room, there isn't a kettle, but you can get hot water at reception.

The location is worth two stars. The way breakfast and Platinum benefits were handled left a bad impression. At check-in, they quoted breakfast at €15, but the next morning the restaurant tried to charge €18. When we challenged that, they adjusted it, then said it couldn't go on our room and had to be paid by card. After we pushed back again, that was suddenly possible to fix too. We were also told at check-in that Marriott Platinum members get nothing here, which isn't true. We insisted they check, and they then found a brochure confirming the benefit: $10 per person per day or a welcome gift in points. Once you put those details together, it seemed like a way to get extra money from guests. Charging €18 means the credit doesn't cover breakfast; charging €15 but requiring card payment means the credit can't be used. This isn't about a large sum, but those tactics felt dishonest and sleazy, and are not what I'd expect from a Marriott property.

The downstairs public area is really nicely designed and lively in the evenings, and we loved that guests can use the pool table for free. Staff were very welcoming, and the welcome cocktail was a nice touch. We spent three nights here for Disneyland, and the location was perfect, with the train station very close and just one stop from the park. Our room was clean and simple but comfortable. The air conditioning kept it warm in the freezing weather. The only thing missing was a way to make tea or coffee in the room. Luckily the coffee and hot chocolate downstairs were really nice, but it would've been handy to make a drink while getting ready. Thanks to the staff for a lovely stay.
