Ibis budget Rennes Montgermont

We paid a little extra for breakfast and it was worth it, really good. The room had been newly renovated, so it felt modern and was very clean. The shower was lovely, the bed pretty comfortable, and the friendly staff were helpful. Just what we needed for a quick stop.

The road noise was low, and the Wi-Fi and air conditioning both worked well, so I slept fine. The bathroom layout is the main issue: the shower opens straight into the room, and the toilet and shower feel very exposed. I wouldn't want to stay here with someone I didn't know really well. It's a budget place, so you know what to expect.

We were hoping for a night's rest before travelling the next day, but I had one of the worst nights of sleep I've had in a while. The shower looked grim, so we didn't use it. The air conditioning was broken, and nobody mentioned it at check-in. When I asked later, staff said it wasn't working anywhere in the hotel and we'd have to go to another hotel for working aircon. Around 11 pm we heard noise in the car park and saw three drunk men stumbling beside our car, with one lying down next to it. We moved the car to the middle of the car park where it was more visible. I hadn't expected much, but the stay still fell short. Definitely don't recommend it.

The staff were very friendly and even made a few calls to find us a restaurant that was open late. It's a small, quiet hotel that looks good for two stars, and I think it's quite cheap. Right by the motorway, so there's plenty of ways to get around; a fitness studio and other business buildings are close by. The rooms are basic, with a small TV and shower, but good enough for a business trip.
